Austin Museum of Digital Art (AMODA)
At the turn of the century, some friends and I founded the Austin Museum of Digital Art (AMODA), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to engage the public and artists in the creation, understanding, and appreciation of digital art. Since then, AMODA has held over 80 Digital Showcases, Exhibitions, Performances, and educational and community events featuring over 400 visual artists and musicians. All of this was accomplished on a shoestring budget through the hard work of an all-volunteer staff.
I designed the original graphic identity and event flyers, incorporated and obtained 501(c)(3) non-profit status, organized events, wrote the original business plan and grant proposals, and developed strategic partnerships with Austin arts organizations and businesses. I continue to serve in an advisory role.
